Sustainable Magazine

Editorial Design
Project Overview
Sustainable Magazine is an editorial design project created to honor an architect whose work has significantly influenced contemporary architecture through sustainability and innovation.

This edition focuses on Võ Trọng Nghĩa, a Vietnamese architect known for integrating natural materials and ecological principles into modern architecture, creating a continuous relationship between nature and built environments.
Goal
  • Design a visually engaging editorial layout
  • Highlight the architect’s philosophy and legacy
  • Support readability while maintaining visual interest
  • Reflect sustainability through layout, color, and composition
My Role
Editorial Designer (Individual Project)
  • Editorial concept development
  • Layout and grid system design
  • Color palette selection
  • Image curation and typographic hierarchy
Design Concept
The design emphasizes the dialogue between architecture and nature.
Võ Trọng Nghĩa’s work often incorporates bamboo, greenery, and organic structures, which informed the visual direction of the magazine.

The layout balances large architectural imagery with subtle details, allowing readers to experience both the scale and craftsmanship of the buildings.
Outcome
The final magazine layout presents a cohesive editorial system that reflects sustainability, balance, and architectural innovation while guiding readers comfortably through the content.
What I Learned
This project challenged me to work with limited resources and information. Through multiple refinement rounds and close collaboration with my professor, I strengthened my research skills, editorial judgment, and ability to translate complex ideas into engaging layouts.
Why This Project Matters
Sustainable Magazine reflects my interest in story-driven editorial design, where layout and visual decisions enhance understanding and appreciation of meaningful subjects.
